The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a movie from 1975 about a Midwestern couple whose car breaks down, so they meet up with some aliens in their castle to find a phone. It's a little weird to watch by itself, so some New Yorkers in 1976 yelled at the screen and inadvertently started a tradition. Now, people meet up weekly to yell at the screen and act out the film as it plays. It's a great way to express yourself and let loose, so feel free to just get enraptured by it. It's like sexy theatrical potato chips; you can't watch it just once.
Why am I a Virgin?
It's just the term for people who haven't seen the show yet. Watching the movie by yourself doesn't count, nor does seeing the play; you have to have seen a shadowcast. We love virgins, so don't be afraid to come just cause you haven't seen it before!
What do I have to dO?
Whatever you'd like! Plenty of virgins just sit back and watch the show for their first time and that's cool. However, if you want to get involved, you can! Heckle the screen, heckle the actors, or get up and dance when everyone else is dancing! We just ask you keep your hands to yourself and don't interrupt the actors acting. Heckling only to shock or upset them also counts as interrupting.
